Tesla Updates "American Heroes" $500 Discount

Tesla has updated its “American Heroes” discount program, which offers $500 off the purchase of a new vehicle for qualifying professionals.

Initially launched on May 22, 2025, the American Heroes discount provided a $1,000 deduction for military veterans, active-duty members, retirees, their spouses, first responders, teachers, and students. The program requires verification through ID.me to confirm eligibility.

According to Tesla’s website, the updated discount now includes additional groups, such as medical providers and nurses. Eligible participants include:

• Military veterans, retirees, and active-duty members, along with spouses and surviving spouses
• First responders
• Medical providers and nurses
• Students and teachers

Verification is required through ID.me, after which users are redirected to Tesla’s Design Studio to place their order.

The $500 discount applies to all Tesla models, including Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. The offer cannot be redeemed for cash, applied retroactively, or used on used vehicles. Discounts between groups are not stackable but can be combined with existing financing offers and Tesla’s Refer & Earn program.

The American Heroes discount is one of several offers currently available from Tesla. Others include:

• Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Trial: Three-month trial for customers using a referral code
• Premium Connectivity Trial: One-month free access
• Financing Offers: For example, Model S and Model X orders in the U.S. can qualify for 3.99% APR financing with $5,000 incentives

These incentives are intended to support Tesla vehicle sales while showing appreciation for individuals working in demanding professions. Tesla has not announced an expiration date for the American Heroes discount, and the program appears to continue indefinitely.
