Just Happened! Elon Musk Reveals NEW Features On The 2024 Tesla Model Y!

he Model Y has indeed been a tremendous success for Tesla. It quickly became one of the most popular luxury vehicles globally and a top seller for the company. However, it’s worth noting that since its launch in 2020, the Model Y hasn’t seen significant changes or updates.

Rumors have circulated about a project called “Highland” at Tesla, which aims to update the Model 3. Given that the Model Y is essentially the SUV counterpart to the small sedan Model 3, it is plausible to assume that similar revisions could be applied to the Model Y as well.

Competition in the electric vehicle market has increased significantly since the Model Y’s release. Mass-market brands like Ford with their Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai with the Ioniq 5, and Volkswagen with the ID4 now pose competition for Tesla. Additionally, traditional luxury automakers such as Genesis with their GV70 Electric, Audi with the Q4 Sportback E-Tron, and Cadillac with the Lyriq have also entered this segment.

Given Tesla’s track record, it’s possible that the 2024 Model Y could see some changes to its exterior design, similar to what has been done with the Model X since its initial launch.Additionally, it’s reasonable to expect that the Model Y could receive some of the updates that were introduced in the 2021 versions of the Model S and Model X. This could include improvements such as increased range, a yoke steering wheel (which has generated mixed opinions among enthusiasts), a higher-performance Plaid variant, and interior enhancements.

Tesla has been known for its commitment to safety, and the Model Y has already achieved the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating for previous model years. It’s reasonable to expect that Tesla will continue prioritizing safety in future iterations of the Model Y.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) regularly updates its criteria for vehicle safety ratings. If the 2024 Model Y performs well in the institute’s updated side crash test and meets all other TSP criteria, there is a good chance it could retain the Top Safety Pick label.

As for driver assists, Tesla has included certain advanced driver assistance features as standard in their vehicles. While we can’t predict with certainty which features will be standard on the 2024 Model Y, it’s likely that Tesla will continue to offer some level of driver assistance technology as standard equipment.

The Model Y’s 15.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system has indeed received positive reviews since its launch. While it’s possible that Tesla may carry over this display for the 2024 update, it’s also worth considering the company’s history of making changes and improvements to their vehicles.

Tesla has been known to streamline production and optimize components across their lineup. It’s plausible that they might choose to simplify production by equipping the Model Y with the larger 17.0-inch display found in the Model S and Model X.

In terms of performance, there have been discussions about Tesla potentially adopting an AMD chipset for their flagship models. If this were to happen, it could potentially enable console-level gaming on the infotainment system of the Model Y or other Tesla vehicles.

Considering these factors and Tesla’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, it is reasonable to expect updates for the Model Y in order to stay competitive in this evolving market landscape.

The article delves into the financial challenges faced by electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer BYD in Q3, highlighting a significant loss which underscores the contrasting profitability of Tesla in the same period. The comparison between Tesla and BYD is nuanced due to BYD's hybrid models and differing market segments. Amidst a broader 41% decline in global automotive free cash flows, Tesla's maintained profitability stands out, prompting a critical industry reflection. Traditional automakers are facing financial woes in the EV landscape, marking a pivotal moment for the sector as it navigates towards a sustainable and profitable future.

Debunking the Myth of Declining EV Demand: A Closer Look at Tesla's Unprecedented Growth

by Lars EVBASE November 01, 2023 10 Comments

The article refutes the notion of declining Electric Vehicle (EV) demand, highlighting instead the robust sales and growth of Tesla in various global markets. It mentions how specific instances like Panasonic's reduced battery cell production are misleadingly used to suggest a broader demand issue. The article emphasizes Tesla's record-breaking sales, especially the Model Y becoming the world's best-selling car, as evidence of strong EV demand. It also contrasts Tesla's success with traditional automakers like Ford, who are reportedly facing demand issues, attributing this discrepancy to legacy automakers' reluctance to fully embrace the EV transition due to short-term financial concerns.
