Tesla China has offered a rare glimpse into its Giga Shanghai facility, showcasing a newly completed vehicle shipping center designed to streamline operations and accelerate deliveries. In a recent Weibo post, the automaker shared a video highlighting Model Y L units being loaded onto car carrier trucks, signaling a ramp-up in production and logistics.

Enhanced Logistics Infrastructure

The video provides a rare exterior view of Giga Shanghai, a facility that has previously restricted drone flyovers. Tesla China emphasized the completion of its vehicle shipping center, which is expected to enhance the efficiency of vehicle dispatches. The footage reveals numerous Model Y vehicles, including the extended-wheelbase six-seat Model Y L, being prepared for shipment.

Model Y L's Market Impact

Since its launch in August 2025, the Model Y L has quickly gained traction in China's mid-to-large SUV market. In September, the vehicle sold 8,221 units domestically, ranking it as China's fourth best-selling mid-to-large SUV. The Model Y L's spacious design and competitive pricing have contributed to its growing popularity.

Production Momentum and Delivery Estimates

Tesla's production efforts are in full swing, with reports indicating 16,500 new vehicle registrations in the week of October 13–19, 2025. This surge suggests a strong finish to Q4 2025. Notably, the Model Y L's estimated delivery date has been extended to December 2025, indicating that the vehicle is sold out for both October and November. This demand underscores the Model Y L's appeal among Chinese consumers seeking a family-friendly electric vehicle.

With the completion of the new shipping center and the Model Y L's strong market performance, Tesla China is poised to continue its momentum in the coming months.
