500 V DC Rating

Rated for 500 V DC, the EVBASE adapter provides a clearly specified voltage limit for charging equipment compatibility. Use it within its rated limits and follow your vehicle’s charging requirements when choosing a station.

Protection for Outdoor Use

Outdoor charging means exposure to dust and changing weather. The EVBASE adapter’s IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes, making it suitable for the conditions commonly encountered at uncovered charging stations.

FAQ

Q1: How do I know if this adapter will work with my Tesla?

A1: Your Tesla must have a NACS charging port and support CCS1 DC charging. On your vehicle’s screen, go to Controls > Software > Additional Vehicle Information and check whether CCS adapter support is enabled. Some vehicles may require a retrofit before use.

Q2: Can I use this to charge my Tesla at a CCS1 station?

A2: Yes, if your vehicle supports CCS1 DC charging. The adapter connects the station’s CCS1 charging cable to your Tesla’s NACS charging port. Check the charging network’s vehicle and adapter requirements before your visit.

Q3: Will I get 250 kW every time I charge?

A3: No. The adapter supports up to 250 kW, but actual speeds depend on your vehicle, battery temperature, battery charge level, and the station’s available output.

Q4: Do I need to modify my car to use it?

A4: No modifications are needed if your Tesla already supports CCS1 DC charging. If CCS adapter support is not enabled, check with Tesla to see whether your vehicle needs a retrofit.

Q5: Can I use this with my home charger?

A5: This adapter is for CCS1 DC fast charging only. It does not work with AC home chargers, J1772 charging cables, or CCS2 connectors.

Q6: Do I still need the charging station's app or an account?

A6: You may. Payment and activation depend on the charging network. The adapter connects the charging interfaces but does not replace the station’s payment or authorization process.

Q7: Can I use it to charge a CCS1 vehicle at a Tesla Supercharger?

A7: No. This adapter works in the opposite direction: it connects a CCS1 charging cable to a compatible Tesla with a NACS charging port.
