SpaceX has reached a significant milestone in its Starlink program by launching its 10,000th satellite into low Earth orbit. This achievement underscores the company's rapid progress in deploying its broadband internet constellation.

On October 19, 2025, a Falcon 9 rocket launched 28 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Among these was the 10,000th Starlink satellite, marking a major step in SpaceX's efforts to provide global internet coverage. This launch also tied the company's annual record for Falcon 9 missions, with 132 flights completed in 2025.

As of October 26, 2025, SpaceX has launched a total of 10,090 Starlink satellites. Of these, 8,758 remain in low Earth orbit, with 8,742 operational and 7,544 actively providing service. The remaining satellites have either failed or been deorbited.

The Starlink constellation now offers broadband internet service in approximately 150 countries and territories, with over 5 million subscribers worldwide. The service has been particularly impactful in remote and underserved regions, providing high-speed internet access where traditional infrastructure is limited.

Looking ahead, SpaceX plans to continue expanding the Starlink network. The company has approval to deploy up to 12,000 satellites and is seeking authorization to increase that number to 42,000. This expansion aims to enhance global internet coverage and capacity.

In a recent update on X (formerly Twitter), SpaceX celebrated the 10,000th satellite launch, highlighting the company's commitment to advancing global connectivity.

This milestone reflects SpaceX's dedication to revolutionizing internet access through innovative satellite technology.
