Tesla’s boldest vehicle has officially joined the Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD). The department recently released a video showcasing its new Tesla Cybertruck police cruisers, donated by philanthropists Ben and Felicia Horowitz, offering the first detailed look inside these futuristic patrol units.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill praised the vehicles, calling them symbols of innovation and community service, designed to perform “from Fremont Street to Red Rock Canyon.” Outfitted by Upfit Tesla (a division of Unplugged Performance), the Cybertruck cruisers merge Tesla’s minimalist tech interior with practical police upgrades.

The front cabin features a laptop mount beside the central touchscreen, integrated siren and light controls, and additional communication tools, all seamlessly built into the dashboard. In contrast, the rear compartment is stripped down for detainee transport, featuring reinforced plastic seating, ballistic glass partitioning, and steel reinforcement for officer safety.

The donation follows an incident earlier this year involving a Cybertruck explosion outside Trump Tower Las Vegas, an event that highlighted the truck’s remarkable blast resistance and structural integrity. Now, with the LVMPD’s Cybertruck fleet officially on duty, Tesla’s all-electric pickup is proving its versatility beyond consumer roads, ushering in a new era of high-tech, zero-emission policing.
