On January 27, 2026, Las Vegas, Elon Musk’s tunneling startup, The Boring Company, has officially opened its newest station in the Vegas Loop underground transportation network at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas resort.

The Fontainebleau Loop station is located on level V-1 of the resort’s south valet area, and it joins the growing network of Loop stops connecting visitors and locals to key destinations across the Las Vegas Strip. Riders at Fontainebleau can now travel free of charge to the Las Vegas Convention Center stations, as well as other stops in the Loop at Encore and Westgate, improving access throughout the corridor.

The expansion comes as the Vegas Loop continues broadening its reach beyond convention-center operations: in December 2025, The Boring Company began offering Loop rides to and from Harry Reid International Airport following approval from the Nevada Transportation Authority allowing Loop vehicles to travel on surface streets to reach the airport. Those airport trips include a combination of underground and above-ground segments, with the requirement that each ride include a tunnel portion. To date, the Vegas Loop has more than 10 miles of tunnels, with roughly four miles currently operational.

Looking ahead, The Boring Company is progressing on further extensions, including the University Center Loop segment, expected to open in the first quarter of 2026, which will enable vehicles to travel beneath Paradise Road between the convention center and airport with a planned station just north of Tropicana Avenue.

The Fontainebleau station represents another step forward in the build-out of the Vegas Loop system, which aims to provide a high-speed, convenient alternative to surface travel across Las Vegas and its major points of interest.
