These running boards were so necessary for me to install. I am 4 foot 11 and pregnant so I was having trouble getting in and out of the car. Now that I have these running boards, it makes it really easy to get in and out. They are wide enough to plant my foot securely without being too wide to look awkward. The only issue I had with install was getting the bolts off to take the plastic pieces off so that I could then install the parts for the running boards. My R1S is a 2025 and I believe the bolts use a tamperproof torx bolt that is a proprietary size for Rivian. I ended up taking it to the service center in Denver Colorado and they were so nice and took the plastic pieces off for free so that I can install the runningboards myself.
To get the bolts off you definitely need the impact wrench with a T55 bit. It’s not happening any other way. :)
