AMSTERDAM - Recently Volvo have served us several appetizers, but now finally they have completed the development of the C30 Electric. Volvo now is ready to commence production.

What's the best way to save money on gas? Simple, stop buying gas and use electric cars. Electric cars - the ones that run without gasoline engines - are no longer science fiction.
The Leaf is Nissan's prestige product, to be sold worldwide. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has put a good deal of his personal capital into this beautifully designed electric car, which bristles with tech features. With big visibility and an equally big ad budget, not to mention pride of place at Nissan dealers, the Leaf will be the one to beat on the sales charts.
What is It? The Volt is a plug-in hybrid with 25 to 50 miles of all-electric range, and it's General Motors' high-tech green flagship. The company won't make a profit on the Volt, but it will gain some environmental credibility.
Imagine waking up in the morning and getting ready for work. You walk into your garage to find your EV fully charged and ready to go. You sit down in the driver's seat, turn the key, and hear that reassuring "click" which means the motor has started. You pull out of the garage and onto the street without making a sound.
You see your neighbour warming up her gas-powered car with fuming exhaust and smile. You press the accelerator and your car quickly responds as you zip down the street.
If you are reading this article, you may be wondering what exactly an 'EV' is. An electric vehicle is any form of transportation that uses electricity as its power source. Examples of electric vehicles include golf carts, trolleys, forklifts, and even your remote control car. All of these vehicles use some form of electricity to power an electric motor that makes the vehicle move. The name 'EV' encompasses a wide variety of vehicles, this site provide information on all of them.
On the outside, most electric cars look exactly like gas-powered cars. You will notice that an electric car lacks a tailpipe and gas tank, but the overall structure is basically the same. Once you lift up the hood however, the difference becomes dramatic. Instead of a huge engine and other things you expect under the hood, all you will see is an electric motor and its controller. The electric motor needs no oil, no tune-ups, and since there is no tailpipe emissions - no smog checks.

It is apparently quite possible that the local utility company that provides the power to charge your new electric vehicle may not have "all its ducks in a row" when it comes to charging you properly for that electricity.
It’s been two weeks since Californian electric automaker filed papers against the BBC’s Top Gear for libel in relation to a segment the popular entertainment show did on Tesla’s all-electric Roadster back in 2008.
Generally accepted as one of the world’s toughest endurance races the 32-year-old Dakar rally is seen by many as the pinnacle of the automotive race calendar.
The race, which has claimed the lives of more than 50 competitors and many local residents in its short history is traditionally fueled by large, powerful combustion engines, but that may change with the introduction of the first plug-in electric car to compete.
Enter the OSCar e0, a Latvian-built monster SUV which outwardly looks no different from the multitude of ultra-rugged Bowler Wildcats or Hummers that compete every year, but which is powered by electricity.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that German automaker Daimler was trying to build its own little electric car empire.
Not only does it have active electric car projects running with Nissan-Renault, BYD and Tesla, but it has now announced intent to work on a project with the automotive arm of electronics firm Bosch.
